SEASONS
There are 4 seasons in a year: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
In winter the weather is usually cold. It snows in winter. The days are short and the nights axe long.
The streets, the houses and the fields axe white with snow. The children like playing snowballs and making snowmen. They ski and skate. They toboggan. (катаются на санках) In winter schoolchildren have holidays. They do not go to school. There is a New Year Party in winter. The children like winter holidays very much.
Spring is a nice season. It is the first warm season. The weather is usually fine. Sometimes it rains but it is warm. The forests, the fields and the trees in the parks, gardens and streets are green. The sun begins to get warm. The sky is blue. The birds sing in the trees. After the long winter months children like spring time. They play out in the yards and in the playgrounds.
In summer the weather is usually fine. The days are long and nights are short. There are hot days. The trees are green. There are many red, white, blue and yellow flowers in the fields, parks and squares.
The schoolchildren have summer holidays. They do not go to school. They read books, play games,
swim and help their parents. The children like summer very much.
In autumn it is cold. The cold weather begins. The sky is gray. Cold winds blow. It usually rains in autumn. The trees are yellow, red and brown. Most birds fly away to warm countries. In autumn there is a lot of fruit. You can see apples on the apple-trees. Children like fruit. It is the harvest (ypожай) time.
School begins in autumn.
As for me, I like all the seasons, but there is nothing like .......

WINTER.
This is the season
When mornings are dark,
And birds do not sing
In the forest and park .
This is the season
When children ski,
And Father Frost
Brings the New Year Tree.
SPRING.
This is the season
When snowdrops bloom (цветут),
When nobody likes
To be in his room.
This is the season
When birds make their nests;
This is the season
We all like best.
SUMMER.
This is the season
When nights are short;
When children are full
Of fun and sport ;
Playing, swimming
All the day
With a happy song
On a sunny day.
AUTUMN.
This is the season
When fruit is sweet;
This is the season
When school friends meet,
When noisy and merry,
And brown in the sun,
With their books and bags
To school they run.
Down, down, down
Red, yellow, brown
Autumn leaves fall down.
