London

London is the capital of Britain. It is a very big and old city. Over seven
million people live in London. It is the place where Queen Elizabeth II lives in
Buckingham Palace in a park.

London stands on the river Thames so there are a lot of bridges. Tower
Bridge is one of them.

There are a lot of beautiful buildings in London, old and new. On the bank
of the river Thames you can see The Tower of London. It is one of the oldest.
Westminster Palace is one of the most beautiful and important with its clock
tower called Big Ben. St Paul's Cathedral is the biggest cathedral in London.

London is the place of 'a hundred museums'. You can see The British
Museum», the National Gallery, Madam Tussaud's, Sherlock Holmes Museum
and many others.

There are a lot of big shops and supermarkets in London and Harrods is the
biggest of them. Hamley's is the biggest toy shop. Westfield is a very big new supermarket.

There are many large and small parks in London. You can see there
beautiful lakes, birds, trees and flowers. Hyde Park is the largest and you can
see the London Zoo in Regent's Park.

Transport in London is very interesting. London's underground is the oldest
and the longest in the world. There are more than two hundred stations in it.
Also there are big red buses and red taxies and good trains. London airport
Heathrow is one of the best in the world.

Hundreds of tourists come to London every day. They can see the panorama
of the capital of Britain from the panoramic wheel called the London Eye. It
stands on the bank of the river Thames.
